I had just completed my AA degree in electronics and was about to be sent out on my first job interview.   I knew what I wanted to do but was told that there were not a lot of jobs in that particular area and they only hired the best.  My thought was then they must be looking for me.   I wanted to work in installation and repair for audio visual equipment suppliers somewhere near my home.  The placement counselor had not been encouraging and in fact told me that he had to call in a lot of favors just to get me the interview for the job.
