Die hard car collectors and VIN numbers

One great use for die hard classic car collectors is being able to identify that the car your buying is original equipment. The vin number can offer you some important information right on the spot to include car make and model, engine size, and descriptor information. When collaborated with the DMV and other reporting agencies on car history reports including insurance companies, you can find a wealth of other information about the car’s history and maintenance. These things are very important when trying to ascertain the true nature of the car versus what the seller claims about the vehicle. This is not to say that they would lie, but when you pay alot of money and the selling point is “Original equipment” it becomes vital.

Revolution in private plates

There may ba revolution in the type of private plates we are allowed to buy. Historically only registration numbers that followed the rules governing which letters, numbers and the combination and positioning were available to buy. Under new proposals most of these rules would be relaxed so buyers of private number plates could specifiy what letters they want, with or without any numbers and what order and spacing. Registrations such as JAMES, SUSAN, and 007 may be available to buy. This overturns the structure of registration number since they were first introduced in 1903. There has always been a part of the registration number which gave the area of the country the car was first registered and since 1963 the age also.

Used Ford Bargains

Wow is the only word I can use to describe the deals on used Ford at the moment. I went to my local used Ford dealer and they have some fantastic offers. We have owned a Ford Focus in the past and were very pleased with it so decided to go and look at some used models. The offer was a half price drive away with nothing to pay for a year! This was ideal for us as things are pretty tight financially at the moment as they are for a lot of people. We’re very pleased with the Focus.

Screening and conveyors help in maintenance

Usually screening and conveyor sconsists of several barriers placed in different stations. The barriers prevent items from going forward with the conveyor belt and allow workers or machines to perform some procedures in order to make the manufacturing process progress. There are also some types of screening and conveyors which are primarily designed for safety considerations. As you may know, machines do have limits on how much work they can handle. Overloading these machines could lead to some serious safety risks.  Screening and conveyors help prevent injuries or machine destruction by making sure that the machine is only given the amount of load it can handle.

The Car of Tomorrow

I’ve always tried to teach my sons responsibility, but I often wondered if they “got it”.

Until last week.

One night I heard the guys in the garage and, when I investigated, found them working on a project. They were building a Hydrogen Fuel Cell so they can convert a car to use water as fuel.

They explained that the car would get improved gas mileage and create less pollution.

“Just like that exhibit we saw at Disney World years ago”, they told me. “Instead of a City of Tomorrow, it will be a Car of Tomorrow. We can help save the planet!”

And all these years I thought they just went along for the rides and junk food.

Fuel-Efficient Used Autos May Be Traded In For Plug-Ins

In a sign of accelerating progress on plug-in hybrids - the 100 mpg vehicles you can’t yet buy in showrooms - electric utilities quickly are linking with automakers and tech companies to develop “smart-charging” technology that controls when and how fast a vehicle is recharged. “Smart charging is an essential capability for Duke and all electric utilities as PHEVs enter the market,” Duke Energy chief technology officer David Mohler says. “Through this capability, we’re able to reduce stress on the grid during peak periods and keep rates low.” As if to make the point that plug-ins no longer are exotic experiments, California clean-air regulators last week required automakers to put 58,333 of them on the state’s roads from 2012 through 2014. Will this be a sign of people trading in their fuel efficient small used autos for electric cars?

Commander Driving

I will never forget the look on my father’s face when he drove up in the driveway in his new Jeep Commander. My father happens to be a Commander himself so I am not sure if it was the name or the car that got my father’s attention, but whatever it was, he is very proud sitting in his new ride. I was a little skeptical after I saw all the accessories for it and thought maybe he might have paid too much but after reading a 2008J eep Commander review I am convinced that he looks great in it and got a good deal.
