Keeping Medical Staff Covered
On our ward in the hospital we have shifts for Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Nursing Assistants. Each job category works a different shift with different hours assigned. And at the same time we need to insure that we have round the clock coverage by all three shifts. We have always managed to get this done but now that we have introduced the medical scheduling software it has gotten a lot easier. Except in cases of emergency we know where there are going to be vacancies and can take early steps to fill them. The nursing staff appreciates it too as they now know well in advance when they will be scheduled to work.
